“Chrisley Knows Best” Stars Sentenced to a Total of 19 Years in Prison

If you’re a fan of reality TV, you have probably at least heard of the show “Chrisley Knows Best.” If you happened to be a big fan of this show, then you may be dismayed to find that the show was canceled due to the stars Todd and Julie Chrisley being sentenced to a total of 19 years in prison. This may come as a huge surprise, as they haven’t acknowledged it on the show at all, regardless of their sentencing taking place while the show was still airing.

What was the show about?

Chrisley Knows Best revolved around real estate tycoon Todd Chrisley, his wife Julie Chrisley, and the rest of their family. The show focused on their daily lives and the issues the family faced despite their wealth. It aired on USA Network from March 11, 2014, and the last episode premiered on November 8, 2022. Chrisley Knows Best had a fairly average reception but was popular enough to produce 9 seasons while it aired.

So, what was the reason behind the sentencing?

After learning about the premise of the show and maybe even watching it, you may be wondering what the reason was for the sentencing. If you haven’t kept up with any news lately, this may come as a huge surprise. It turns out, that Todd and Julie were guilty of bank fraud and tax evasion. According to the Department of Justice, they were reported to have been defrauding different banks out of tens of millions of dollars over the course of a decade. They also committed the crime of tax evasion in an attempt to minimize their tax liability.

How long is the couple’s sentencing?

Todd Chrisley was sentenced to 12 years in prison with 3 years of supervised release, while Julie Chrisley was sentenced to 7 years in prison with 3 years of supervised release. Their accountant, Peter Tarantino was also sentenced to 3 years in prison with 3 years of supervised release due to his involvement in the scandal.

What does this mean for the rest of the family?

Todd and Julie have two minor children that were living with them prior to being sentenced with them, Grayson (16) and Chloe (10). It appears that the couple’s oldest daughter Savannah may be taking custody of the two children, as she stated she has plans to do so on a podcast episode. She stated how things won’t be easy moving forward, but she will try her hardest to be a positive role model for the kids.

Unfortunately, it appears that the wealth the family was accustomed to on the show had some dark secrets behind how it was initially obtained. While the couple did earn money from the show, it would appear that a large amount of their fortune was obtained fraudulently, therefore making their sentencing completely justified.

Regardless, there is still the sad truth that the Chrisley family will never quite be the same again, and that their two youngest children will have to live without their parents being in their lives for quite some time. The Chrisleys have publicly shown that they are taking a positive outlook on the whole situation and wish to better themselves as a whole. The Christley’s situation is just another example that nobody is too famous to face justice.
